This time, we have Stuart Wrathmell speaking on Vikings settlements in eastern and northern Yorkshire. This will follow on nicely from the Lost Villages Found conference last Saturday.

Our speaker will be Matthew Townend, of York University, who will be talking to us about ‘Folk-Speech: the Victorians and Yorkshire Dialect’. This a change of topic for us and I hope you will enjoy a different aspect of language.
