An online conference to be held on Saturday 23rd October.

Our speaker will be Matthew Townend, of York University, who will be talking to us about ‘Folk-Speech: the Victorians and Yorkshire Dialect’. This a change of topic for us and I hope you will enjoy a different aspect of language.

At the moment, we are hoping to have at least some of the meetings in person, starting at 14.00, but will be able to let you know the venue and whether they will be online or in person nearer the time.

This year we are having an extra talk on June 12th. The speaker will be Tony Hunt, Seeing the light fantastic: experiments is multispectral imaging in archaeology. His talk will be about working with drones to explore sites and areas of interest.

The speaker will be Dr Kate Giles on The Writing on the Wall: Graffiti and the Horselads of East Yorkshire.
This will be followed by the Sections AGM.
