For those of you who thought you would have to miss the IMC this year here is their press release 🙂
Register Now for Virtual International Medieval Congress
Since launching the programme, we are delighted to have received over 2,000 registrations for virtual International Medieval Congress (vIMC) 2020. This wholly online event has been devised to replace the in-person event and will run from Monday 6 July – Friday 10 July.
Alongside nearly 180 academic sessions, the programme also features a range of performances, exhibitions, and other medievally-themed activities. Colleagues are welcome to browse the PDF version of the programme here: https://www.imc.leeds.ac.uk/imc-2020/programme/
Virtual IMC will be hosted on the new University of Leeds events app, and details of how to access the app – and all the IMC content! – will be sent to all registered delegates a few days before the event begins.
No IMC would be complete without the Bookfair. Instead of taking over Parkinson Court, we are hosting a virtual Bookfair within the app. The virtual fair features a wide range of academic publishers from across medieval studies, including some exclusive discounts on medieval titles for IMC delegates!
The app’s virtual marketplace and fairs will also provide opportunities to connect with our local historical and archaeological societies, second-hand and antiquarian book-traders and local craft and marketplace stalls online offering a wide variety of hand-crafted and medieval-inspired items.
We are delighted to confirm that the event is free to register. You can register online here: https://www.imc.leeds.ac.uk/imc-2020/register-for-vimc/ Please note that registrations close on Friday 26 June, and late registrations will not be possible.
